Chapter 0100
Cassie White
As Cassie expected, the Alpha didn’t call her to set up a date. She waited till sundown before. reaching out to him.
As she strode into the massive, luxurious lobby of Reigns Tower, she was about to tap the call button on his number when his glorious scent floated her way.
He stood on front of his elevator, holding the phone to his ear as he watched her with a blank
expression.
Cassie’s heart jumped to her throat for some odd reason.
Motioning for her, his brow lifted, and he gave her a brief smile.
What was that look? No, he couldn’t know she had dealings with any rogue. She was careful
not to contact them directly.
As she got out of the building with him, the first thing she saw was the pack’s warrior.
A snobby gamma female. This one had just gotten back from the little town. Her contact saw her around the omega’s food truck. She was supposed to be following the pup around.
If she was here in the city, Cassie decided the plan must’ve worked. There was no pup to
protect over there anymore.
The female bowed to the Alpha but didn’t acknowledge her at all. That was fine. She was proud, as a female warrior should be. Once Cassie became Luna, she would have her acknowledgement and even submission.
As the warrior held the door open, the Alpha stepped aside for her to get in first.
A camera click sounded. He ignored it. Clearly, he was so very used to it. The photo of the two of them getting into the same car would easily be explained away. But not this time, Cassie vowed.
She deposited herself in the car, eager for them to be on their way.
“But where’s Patel or the other driver?” She asked once they started to move.
“Why do you ask? You don’t like Lindsey?” His tone was casual. Friendlier today.
“I guess
she’s alright,” Cassie shrugged. How she wished she could read his mind.
“You should’ve been more careful, White,” he breathed.

Her heart shot to her throat as she waited for him to go on. But he seemed to be waiting too.
“What do you mean, Alpha?” She asked.
“You showed up too often, and now I’m just tired of your face,” he replied with a half smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
“Ha ha, funny male. Didn’t know you make jokes,” she returned his smile.
“But I’m really glad you’re ready to talk things through. I’m under a lot of

pressure.”
He was mocking her. The worst part was how uninterested he seemed in whatever she had to say. Cassie wanted to scream, but instead, she let her shoulders drop before speaking,
“You know what kind. It’s been six months.‘
His face hardened. Like he didn’t want to hear a word about their engagement. So why was he meeting her?
“My family doesn’t like the fact that we’re still being… discreet,” she added.
“Well, we won’t have to be for too long now, would we?” He muttered.
The car had stopped. They were at her favorite restaurant. She braced herself for what was
about to happen.
Alpha Nick opened the door and got out. And as she followed him, the sound of the cameras and footsteps took over.
Reporters from various tabloids, magazines, and newspapers advanced their way.
“Mr. Reign, is she the mystery woman?”
“How long have you two been dating?”
“Miss White, is this your first date?”
“Oops, they caught us,” Cassie mumbled, but loud enough for everyone to hear her.
The Alpha looked flustered, his eyes moving about.
Aww! Was he searching for mommy to come rescue him? Cassie wanted to laugh.
“How did you two meet?”
“Miss White, give us something, c’mon. Is this a business meeting?”

“Is he your boyfriend?”
She forced her hand into the crook of his arm. He jerked, then grew stiff.
“Not boyfriend,” she replied shyly. “He’s my fiance. We’re engaged.”
As she spoke, cold grey eyes settled on her while the cameras clicked away.
‘You shouldn’t have said that!‘ He mindlinked.
The gamma female came to his rescue with another male.

Nick POV
“C’mon men, give us something, Mr. Reign,” one of the reporters urged.
Lindsey stood in his way.
“Stop it! Stop taking pictures! Get the camera off his face!” She snapped.
I ignored the hoard and made my way into the restaurant.
Cassie still had her hand on me. Once we entered the restaurant, I pulled my arm free and made my way to the second floor, where we usually sat.
“You called them!” I said.
“No, I did.” My mother’s voice almost startled me.
She rose from where she sat in a table for two, immediately switching to mindlink.
‘You spent THREE consecutive days in that town, Nick. You ignored all of my damn calls! Tell me, how often do I call you? And don’t you dare use the pup as excuse for not taking my calls! What could you possibly have to do there for 72 whole hours. Are you his nanny?”
‘So this is your revenge? I couldn’t take your calls, so you team up with the Whites to ambush me?‘ I asked her.
‘It is time, Nick! No more games. Your son will still be yours. That’s a given. If you’ve decided he’s your heir despite his illegitimacy, that’s fine. I’ll take care of everything. JUST FIX A DAMN DATE AND GET MATED ALREADY. GODDESS.‘
