Chapter 13–Breakfast

I watched as John’s face turned redder and redder by the second. It was pretty f*****g
hilarious, to be honest..he did not expect me to say that.
I felt my gaze drift to Gabriella’s beautiful wide eyes as she bit down on her full pink bottom lip nervously. That one action alone almost made me forget what I was even saying..
I don’t know how a woman this naturally beautiful can also be so f*****g innocent and sweet
as well..it’s like she is the full package..truly.
I saw the stares she garnered as we walked into the restaurant..all of the men we passed did double takes and gawked at what was about to be mine.
She was going to be Mrs. Sinclair in a matter of weeks..and I have never been so sure of
something in my life.
“I think it’s the best option, to get her used to our future home together..besides, I don’t want her living out of a hotel..it doesn’t feel right to me.” I explained, making John flick his eyes over
to his daughter.
“Perhaps we can discuss this after the doctor’s appointment..” John stated firmly, making me furrow my brow as Gabriella looked down in her lap awkwardly.
“Why would that change anything?” I asked, yeah that was important to my dad..but I’m starting to think it doesn’t even matter. If Gabriella can’t become pregnant, then we will find other ways..IVF..surrogacy..hell..I don’t care how we do it.
“Jamie..you know that is a big part of this whole contract.. Perhaps we shouldn’t get Gabriella’s hopes up before we hear the results.” John said with a threatening tone as he glanced toward Gabriella.
She looked up, giving him a half–hearted smile as my heart dropped.
I don’t know what the f**k is wrong with me..or why I have become so damn obsessed with this girl..but I wanted to make one thing clear.
“Mr. Kensington, I hope you do realize that whatever the results say, I still plan on marrying your daughter.” I stated firmly, making Gabriella look up at me as a rush of air escaped those
perfect lips,
John looked between us, the hint of a smile forming in the corner of his mouth as he let out a
sigh.

“I see..well, in that case, I guess it would be up to Gabriella. Is that what you would like sweetheart?” Her father asked, making Gabriella peek over at me once more before nodding her head up and down excitedly.
I can’t lie..that one motion alone made my heart flutter as relief flooded through me.
“Then it’s settled.” John laughed, seeming to relax slightly as our waiter came to the table.
“Are you ready to order?” The man asked, his eyes settling on my future wife as they lit up with
interest.
“Miss, would you like to go first?” He asked a little too eagerly as Gabriella glanced down at
the menu and pointed to something before glancing at her dad.
“She would like the blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon.” He ordered for her as I could see
Gabriella smile even wider.
John ordered next and I got the eggs benedict as my attention stayed on Gabriella.
Suddenly I found myself rising out of my seat, my hand reaching out as I brushed my fingers
across her cheek and tucked a strand of silky black hair behind her ear.
“I would like to go to the appointment with you if that’s okay.” I stated, watching her cheeks
turn pink before she glanced at her dad and nodded in agreement.
“I know this is all happening fast, but I think we should spend as much time together as we can…you know..to get comfortable with one another.” I added, feeling nervous all of a sudden
as John stared at me intently.
“But I do hope Gabriella will be getting her own room in your home for now..correct?” John
inquired, making Gabriella snap her head towards her dad before narrowing her eyes at him.
Oh god..that was adorable.
Suddenly I watched Gabriella lift her hands before moving them smoothly..my eyes transfixed
on those slender fingers as she curled them and balled her hand into a fist.
“Bunny, I was a man his age once..” Her dad said quickly before crossing his arms in front of
his chest and glaring at me now.
“What did she say?” I asked curiously..the ASL I studied online earlier did nothing to help me
with what she said..
I just learned the basics like hello and I love you.. Not like I would say that now or anything!!! just stumbled upon it..accidentally.
“Well, she said you weren’t that type of guy..” Her dad explained, before clearing his throat and

taking a drink of water.
“I can give you my word. I will never pressure Gabriella into doing something she isn’t ready for.” I said seriously as Gabriella smiled widely before pointing to her eyes and mouthed “see“.
I couldn’t help but chuckle as we met each other’s gaze as her dad began grumbling under his
breath.
The rest of the breakfast went smoothly as I couldn’t take my eyes off of this damn girl..every
smile, look, and move she made was f*****g mesmerizing.
Even her little sneeze was the most adorable thing I had ever seen..
I watched as she ate her pancake eagerly, every bite prompting a small moan to escape her as
I gripped my fork so damn tight I swear I almost snapped it in half.
And the result those sounds made put me in a very awkward situation as I was now pitching a
damn tent in the middle of a restaurant with my fiancee’s dad at the table.
I filled my head with thoughts of cold showers and my grandma..which seemed to do the trick
as I stood up and raced to Gabriella’s chair.
“Let me help you.” I said softly before pulling her chair out and helping her up.
She smiled at me sweetly, making my gaze flick to her lips as I began to imagine how sweet
she would taste..
“L..let me put your coat on.” I breathed, grabbing the coat I let her use earlier as I slid it over
her shoulders and watched the fabric engulf her body..she looked so tiny and cute in my big
jacket as I hesitated for a moment before inhaling deeply.
She smelled like spring..the image of fresh flowers, the warm sun, and a gentle breeze flashed through my mind as something about her just felt so comfortable and familiar.
“We better get going, we will meet you at the hospital then, come on Bunny.” John stated while
grabbing Gabriella’s arm and tugging her away from me.
“See you in a little bit.” I stated, seeing Gabriella glance over her shoulder as her dad pulled her
through the room hastily.
The urge to stay with her making me ball my hands into a fist as I didn’t want to overwhelm
her..but f**k it was hard to watch her walk away.
I let them leave first, noticing John seemed a little too eager to get his daughter alone as I
realized he probably wanted to make sure she was okay with moving into my house.
It’s understandable..but that didn’t mean I had to f*****g like it..for some reason I felt jealous. I

felt like I wanted to be the one who orders for her and knows what she likes..I wanted to be the
one she trusted and looked at with adoration..
Yeah, this is getting bad..really f*****g bad.
After settling the bill, I walked outside and saw my driver Ray waiting for me in the black
Mercedes I came here in.
“We will be going to the Hospital first, also, tell Becky to get the guest room ready for
Gabriella. I want it to look warm and inviting..oh..and pink.” I instructed before pulling out my
phone and seeing I had a text.
From Rylan: So, you got engaged and didn’t tell me..fucking asshole..at least she is hot.
The text read and that’s when I saw the article he attached.
But the name on the header was not the one I wanted to f*****g see..
Jamie Sinclair from Sinclair Industries officially announced engagement to Cecelia
Kensington.
I stared down at the article, scanning through it as I clenched my jaw in frustration..Cecelia
even gave a damn interview..I can’t f*****g believe this…
