CHAPTER 183: DARE TO LOVE ME Epilogue Loli
Gavin
“Mom, this isn’t a good time. I know them well enough to know that they are wonderful people and that Loli is an incredible and beautiful woman, not only on the outside. You have no idea what a big heart that girl has,” I said as I tried to walk away.
“Son, you can’t get married. You’re too young and-” She looked at them and held my arm.
“Excuse me, ma’am,” Loli’s mother approached and looked at her. “It seems you don’t agree
with your son’s and my daughter’s wedding,” she confronted her. “You’ve made it quite clear
with your attitude.”
“My son is still very young. I don’t think they should get married; they’ve only known each
other for a few months…” My mother spoke in Spanish, not as good as my father’s; however,
she managed to surprise me.
“No, that’s not all that bothers you. What bothers you is that your son and mine come from
different worlds, but let me tell you, money doesn’t make good people. A good education, love, affection, and respect do, no matter if we are born in a mansion or a humble and decent home. I can’t believe you’re this boy’s mother; he’s polite, kind, and decent, unlike…” She looked
at me.
“Mom, please,” Loli approached her mother.
“I won’t allow you to speak to me like that!” my mother shouted and approached Teresa. I had never seen her act like this; I didn’t understand her behavior.
“Mom, enough,” I stood in front of her.
“Loli!” Fernando shouted from behind us, and my father managed to hold Loli, who had fainted. We all approached her, and I took her in my arms.
“Take her to the room,” my father urged, and I remembered that the same thing had happened a week ago, but Loli hadn’t let me take her to a doctor.
“No, we’re going to the hospital. This isn’t the first time this has happened to her,” I said. Loli’s mother looked at me worriedly.
*****
Luckily, we weren’t far from the hospital, and we arrived in less than fifteen minutes. Now we were in a room. I was holding Loli’s hand, my brows furrowed, wondering what was going on, even though the doctor had told us it was just a faint and that she was fine, she still hadn’t

woken up.
“Any news?” my father asked, and I shook my head. Loli’s parents entered after him.
“We have no news,” my father told them, and they both looked at their daughter.
“How is she?” My mother entered, and Teresa didn’t seem to like seeing her.
“We don’t know. According to the doctor, her general condition is good. They did some medical tests on her; they haven’t given us the results yet,” I explained. My father translated for Loli’s parents, and I felt my girl squeeze my hand.
“My love,” I said and kissed her. She looked at everyone.
“What…?”
“You fainted again, and I decided to bring you in. It’s not normal for it to happen twice in one week,” I caressed her cheek, and she nodded as she woke up. I helped her drink some water.
****
“Well, everyone’s here,” the doctor said, entering the room. “Mr. Hamilton told me she was his fiancée, and you are their family.” He pointed to our parents, and I nodded.
“We have the test results,” he turned to me. “The young lady is perfectly fine… as is the baby.” My heart skipped a beat as the doctor smiled. Loli’s eyes widened, and my parents looked surprised. “You’re eight weeks pregnant. We’ll do an ultrasound for the baby’s first checkup, then I’ll prescribe some medication, and you can go home,” he explained, and I was still in shock. Did he say we were going to be parents?
“Loli…” I looked at my girl, completely stunned. Her eyes were filled with tears. I smiled, and she smiled back. I put my hand on her belly and kissed her lips as she laughed through her
tears.
“My baby is going to have a baby!” my mother shouted. We turned to see her sink heavily into
the armchair and start to cry.
“What did he say?” Teresa asked, and my father translated.
“Mother of God,” Loli’s mother looked at her, and my father tried to approach her, but she
stopped him.
“God Almighty, but this is what we all have to live through when we’re parents; we have to
watch them fly the nest, Teresa looked at Loli with a special gleam in her eyes. I didn’t need to
understand what she was saying to know.
“No, not my baby!” my mother sobbed. “He’s my little boy, and now he’s going to get married

all of a sudden, and he’s going to be a father.” She cried on Teresa’s shoulder, and Teresa
patted her back.
“That’s it, Viviane; you don’t want to accept that he’s a man now,” Teresa assured her, and my
mother nodded, wiping her nose.
“I don’t know how to handle it, Teresa. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to say what I said about you and your daughter; it seems you are good people, and your daughter is beautiful, a delight. No, no, I’m not one of those classist women, it’s just that this got to me,” she started to cry again.
“Well, come on, we’re going to learn together. It’s not easy for me to see my little girl get
married and become a mother, but we’ll have each other,” she said affectionately to my
mother.
“You’re a great woman, Teresa. I’d love to be your friend,” my mother dried her tears.
“Come on,
these kids need some privacy,” my father spoke to them, and they walked out, but
not before conveying their love with a look.
I turned to the woman of my life, and she smiled, resting her hands on her abdomen, and I
placed mine over hers.
“I hope it’s a girl, just as beautiful as you,” I said, kissing her, and she smiled.
“And what if it’s a boy?” She furrowed her brows.
“I’ll love him just the same because, boy or girl, they’ll be the living proof of our love,” I kissed
the tip of her nose, and Loli caressed my face.
“I love you, my love,” I tucked a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear.
“I’ve never been so happy,” she said excitedly, and I kissed her, feeling the same happiness.
