CHAPTER 175: DARE TO LOVE ME It Hasn’t Been Enough Part 1
Will
I said goodbye to Ash and boarded the flight. All I could think about was that every second since I’d met her had been worth it, even though I’d spent a few bad days believing she’d changed teams and preferences. I laughed and shook my head.
My phone rang, and I saw it was Nick.
“Will, there’s been a slight change of plans. One of our partners was supposed to be in London today to meet with the board of directors and then fly out tonight for tomorrow’s meeting here.
He won’t be able to make it from Switzerland. We need you to attend; we have no other choice. I’ve already spoken to the pilot, and he’s changed the flight itinerary,” he explained.
“No problem, bro. I’ll go to London. I’ll let you know if anything comes up. See you in Los
Angeles.” I ran my hand over my face. The trip would be longer.
I settled in and decided to take a nap, as Ash and I hadn’t gotten much sleep last night. I
smiled, remembering her.
When I arrived in London, I headed straight to our building to attend the meeting. I was
running a little late, but they were expecting me. They greeted me cordially, and the head of
the office guided me to the meeting room.
I took a seat, and they briefed me on the details of the meeting and the financial statements
from the previous year, which I was supposed to relay at tomorrow’s meeting in L.A.
They brought us tea with some English desserts that I enjoyed, but I had to admit I’d liked the ones in the UK better. Or maybe it was just that whenever I’d tried the UK desserts, I was with
Ash, and that had made the experience better.
Three hours later, I was finally free. I gathered the information in some folders and headed to
the airport. There was no time to lose.
They informed me that I had to wait half an hour in a VIP lounge at the airport before I could
board the flight.
I decided to work on my laptop while I waited.
I heard the wails of a group of girls next to me, and although it wasn’t my intention to eavesdrop on their conversation, it was inevitable.
“No, no, no, no!” shouted one of them, the one with red hair.

“What is it?” asked the blonde.
“Lyon Rossi is getting married!”
“The pilot?”
“Yes, the one and only, she continued to lament.
“But he’s only twenty years old. How can he be getting married?” questioned the light–haired
one.

“I don’t know. They saw him this afternoon with his fiancée, a dark–haired girl. I have to admit,
she’s pretty,” she said with some annoyance. “It says here that she’s a Spanish designer.” Her
words made me frown, but I continued with my work.
“Ashley Russell is her name,” said the one who was providing all the information, and I
stopped typing to look at them.
No, it couldn’t be.
“Excuse me, could you repeat the name?” I asked. Maybe I’d had a lapse and misheard.
“Ashley Russell,” she repeated.
“Thank you,” I said quickly, and I went to the search engine on my computer to type in the two
names. My hands moved impatiently as the internet took its time loading the page, and soon
several images and news of an engagement began to appear.
Something pressed down on my chest as I saw the pictures of Ashley. I brought my face closer to the computer and enlarged the photo to see her with the guy. They looked close, they were smiling, and in the last one, it looked like their faces were close. Did they kiss?
“What the hell?” I whispered through gritted teeth. Ashley had been in the UK this morning,
and now it looked like she was in Monaco.
I grabbed my phone and saw a message from her asking me to call her. I jumped to my feet and started calling her. I needed to know what the hell was going on.
After the fifth call, I gave up and called Alaia’s house. They told me that they were in Monaco.
I hung up and ran my hand over my chin and face.
I looked for the pilot and ordered him to change the itinerary again. I was going to Monaco.
I paced the airport lounge impatiently, trying to find an explanation, but it still didn’t make
sense.
I boarded the flight, and the short trip felt long. I was about to get off the plane when they told

me I could. I was looking at the picture of Ashley and this Lyon guy on my phone when the feed refreshed and a new picture of the two of them coming out of an elevator appeared. Ashley was wearing an evening gown, and he was very close to her.
I stood up, and my footsteps echoed in the cabin.
I ordered a car and showed the driver the location where they were. He nodded, mentioning the
name of the hotel.
My heartbeat quickened, as did my steps as we arrived at the entrance to the place.
I arrived at the reception and asked for Ashley Russell. They informed me that she was not in
her room. So she had a reservation? My mind wandered and took me to hell. I clenched my
fist and rejected the idea of her in that room with…
I swallowed hard and made my way to the restaurant and ordered a drink at the bar while I
thought about what to do.
I opened the last photo on the social media page where the news was and noticed that the
elevator was the same one at the back of the lobby, but I noticed a detail: the floor number
illuminated at the top of the doors was the twentieth floor.
I walked quickly to the elevator and pressed the floor number. I released the tension in my
neck like Nick usually did; I felt my back tense, and I rolled my shoulders. The sound of
arriving at my floor was heard, and I took two steps to get out. I observed the place and found
myself in an elegant restaurant that was almost full. I took a few steps and looked for Ash, and I found her standing next to this Lyon guy. They were in front of a long table, and my expression hardened when I saw the kid lean in with a ring and she accepted.
“What the f**k!” I approached and saw that in a moment of intimacy, they kissed.
I stood there like an i***t watching the woman I loved kissing and getting engaged to another
man.
Their companions applauded, and I only felt fury taking over me. I debated whether to go over there and ruin the moment, but I stopped any action when I saw Ashley looking at me and her face turning pale, which made things worse in my mind. Was I the lover here? I clenched my jaw at the thought that had crossed my mind.
