FIVE YEARS LATER
ISABELLA’S POV

The morning sun peeked through the curtains, casting soft rays of light inside our home. I could hear the birds chirping outside, the small sound of crickets and the gentle flow of the river from the distance. It sent a warm and peaceful feeling. After preparing the breakfast on
the table, I walked towards our bedroom.
And there I saw the greatest gifts of my life. My twins. Liam and Lily.
My little boy, Liam, looks like as if he just woke up from sleep, rubbing his eyes in a cute manner. A smile tugged at my lips while I sat on the bed.
“Good morning, mom!” He was the one to greet me first with a cute yet groggy voice.
I chuckled, kissing his forehead. “Good morning, darling.”
“Should we wake Lily up?” He asked, turning to look at his sister who was sleeping beside
him.
“Yup, mommy has already prepared breakfast for you two.” I ruffled his hair before I moved
towards my little baby girl.
“Lily, wake up now!” Liam gently tugged at his sister’s arm, but our little baby girl still showed
no signs of waking up..
“Mom made pancakes… I’ll have it all to myself!”
With the little threat from her brother, Lily finally opened her eyes in alert as she groggily sat up on the bed. Seeing me, she immediately raised both her arms.
“Mommyyyy!!” I knew she wanted cuddles at that moment. I laughed heartily as I hugged her chubby little body while kissing her cheeks.
“Good morning to our little princess!”
“Good morning, mommy…” She yawned then looked at me with eyes full of energy. “Mommy, I
want pancakes!”
“Well then, let’s get up and get your pancakes now. Breakfast is ready.” I winked at her and she giggled, instantly flipping over the bed and running towards the kitchen.
“It’s all mine! I won’t share some with brother!”

An amused laugh escaped my lips. I turned to look at my little boy, Liam, but he also had a gentle and doting look on his face. In fact, he’s used to his sister’s words and actions and even spoils her sometimes.
A gentle smile formed on my lips as I watched my little babies eat their breakfast. Five years ago, it was only during my sixth month of pregnancy that I discovered I was pregnant with twins. I was shocked and worried by the news. I was still facing so many uncertainties during
that time.
However, seeing my two lovely kids now made me realize that the pain and sufferings were all
worth it. They’re a beautiful reminder of the life I have fought so hard to rebuild, despite
everything that happened in the past.
Speaking of the past… Five years had passed since that ‘fateful‘ day. While I feel like I have
already moved on from it, it couldn’t be completely erased from me. There were moments
when the ache of the past resurfaces, but I knew I needed to stay strong for my babies.
Oftentimes, the memory of Xavier still lingered in the corners of my mind, faint but persistent.
In fact, the reason why I couldn’t completely get rid of him is because of the huge
resemblance the twins have to him. Liam was the spitting image of his father. He has green
eyes and looks like a little version of Xavier. The only thing he inherited from me was his
golden locks. Even his mannerisms are sometimes the same as Xavier’s. On the other hand,
Lily was like a miniature version of me, except for those same striking green eyes that belonged to her father too.
They were like a constant reminder of my past with Xavier, and oftentimes, it sent me a
bittersweet feeling.
I had always hoped for a complete family for them. I wanted to give them a normal life like others have, but life had other plans. The absence of their father weighed heavily on my heart,
and I felt guilty for it.
I can still remember how I lied to them in the past when they asked me about their father for
the first time.
-FLASHBACK-
One day, Lily came running to me with a curious look on her face.
“Mommy, do we have a daddy?” The eager look on her face made my heart freeze. Although I’d been dreading for a question like this from them, I didn’t expect it to come sooner than
expected.
“Of course, you have.” I couldn’t allow myself to see the sad look on my babies‘ faces if I told

them they didn’t have their daddy. I don’t want to see them sad. So, I made up some lie about
- it.
“Then where is he, mommy?” It was Liam who asked this time. They had just finished
watching some movie on the TV, and I was guessing their curiosity started there.
A sigh escaped my lips while I blinked my eyes, trying to hide the pain from my them. I bent down to match their eye level and forced a smile on my lips.
“Daddy is out there doing important work. He’s at a… far away place. So, he still can’t come
home now because he’s protecting all werewolves like us from danger, like a superhero…”
It wasn’t entirely a lie, but it wasn’t the whole truth either. Thankfully, the twins seemed
content with that explanation, and after that, they didn’t ask about their father anymore.
Even though they’re just turning five years old next month, the twins are already smart,
sensible and perceptive for kids their age, especially Liam. He has a photographic memory,
and his IQ level was far above average of ordinary kids… and even adults. Lily has a high IQ
too and has a passion for music. She loves playing the piano and violin, and her skill level is
impressive–she can already perform complex pieces with ease.
It fills me with both pride and a touch of worry to see them growing up so quickly.
Suddenly, I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard a sound of footsteps approaching
our home after we finished eating breakfast. But then, Lily and Liam rushed to the window,
and their faces instantly lit up as they saw someone outside.
“Uncle Xander!” They squealed in unison with their voices filled with delight before Lily rushed
towards the main door and opened it herself.
The next second, a figure quickly moved and carried her up. A smile tugged in the corner of my lips as I stared at the man’s familiar handsome face.
It’s Alexander, the Alpha of the Bluemoon Pack.
