CHAPTER 161: DARE TO LOVE ME You’re mine
Gavin
I opened the car door for Mrs. Paula, who had been out shopping with Mrs. Elise and prepared to end my shift for the day. It was time to head to the nearby house they’d assigned us for
rest.
“Thank you, Gavin,” they said as they entered the house.
I walked over to join the guys and greeted them while checking the cameras. The days here
were calm, and our job was straightforward.
My phone screen lit up, displaying Gus’s name.

I got into the van and waited for my partner Jeremy to drive us. I realized we needed to take one of the girls to a restaurant. We often transported Ashley Russell and the models or someone from her staff.
I kept in touch with my colleagues as we headed to the restaurant, and it didn’t take long to get there.
Since Jeremy was the one who received the instructions, hè took care of the girl. He closed the door after she got out of the car and walked towards the restaurant. I watched her through the side mirror out of simple curiosity and frowned when I saw a familiar figure. However, I returned my attention to my phone and waited for Jeremy to come back.
“She looks very different,” he commented after closing his door.
“Who?”
“The blonde girl, the one who takes care of the kids at the house,” he said, and my eyes returned to the restaurant entrance where I saw her walking in, but I couldn’t focus on her correctly.
“Who was it?” I asked, seeking confirmation.
“Loli, I think that’s her name,” he said, and I looked again in that direction. “It seems she had a date, from what I heard.”
Oh, s**t.
I pondered for a couple of seconds, and Jeremy started the car.

“Wait,” I told him, and he quickly turned it off. I thought for a few minutes before deciding to call my friend. If I’d seen him trying to get close to Loli without her responding to his
advances, which hadn’t sat well with him, I rested my head on the seat and exhaled. If I were
in his place, I’d want to know if the woman I cared about was going out with someone else.
I took my phone and searched for my friend’s number.

“Gus,” I said as soon as I activated the call.
“Brother, I’m in front of a restaurant right now and…” I made a puzzled gesture. What was he talking about?
“And?” I raised my gaze to look at the security camera screens.
“Loli is on a date right now,” he explained, and my face tensed.
“What do you mean ‘apparently‘?” I asked, my voice deeper than I expected.
“Jeremy told me we brought her from the fashion house,” he commented, and I tilted my head
while squinting.
“You took her on a date with someone else?” I asked, holding back my anger.
“No, I didn’t know it was her until we got here.”
“I need you to check if it’s her and who she’s with, right now,” I said impatiently, pacing the
room with the cameras. “I’ll wait on the line.”
“Alright, I’m getting out of the car.” I heard the ambient noise and the door as he entered the
restaurant.
“Indeed, she’s here,” he said. “And she’s with a guy, no, he’s not her brother or her father,” he
clarified, and I tensed my jaw.
“Find out who the man with her is. I’m on my way,” I informed him and headed out to find one
of the cars.
Forty–five minutes later, I was parking behind Gus’s car. He walked over to meet me, and I nodded in greeting.
“He’s Lorenzo Costa, 27 years old, a primary school teacher. He works at a nearby institute to Loli’s house,” he said, and I turned to look at him. “Perfect.” “He was just transferred there a
couple of weeks ago.”

“She met him recently,” I said to myself, and Gus shrugged.
“What are we waiting for?” I looked at my friend, and he gestured towards the restaurant, walking ahead of me. “I think it wasn’t a good idea to come,” he said as we entered, and I quickly spotted her at one of the tables with her companion. I breathed, holding back the irritation I felt seeing her with another guy.
She noticed us and immediately came to confront us, and my irritation grew seeing the clothes she was wearing and the fact that she wasn’t wearing them for me. She looked
stunning.
She confronted us, and I couldn’t help but feel more attracted to her when she showed concern for the Russells. I quickly assured her they were fine; I didn’t want to see that beautiful worried face. But I hastened to point out that she was out with a stranger, and she quickly confirmed she barely knew the i***t at the table. She asked us to leave, something that wouldn’t happen.
I wouldn’t leave her with this Lorenzo.
I decided we’d have dinner at the restaurant and accompany them from a distance. I’d stay
calm for now; I didn’t think they’d get very far. Gus looked at me reproachfully after Loli said a
few words to him, but as a good friend, he accompanied me to the table.
I ordered a drink and an appetizer, while Gus decided to order a full dinner.
My eyes followed every movement of the couple, and with displeasure, I noticed the laughter
the man caused her. He probably couldn’t lift more than 10 kilos of weight, and my disgust for the image they presented only grew. My boiling point reached its limit when I heard a big laugh that sounded delightful but wasn’t caused by me. Without thinking for a split second, I
got up and went to the table.
“Damn it, Gavin!” Gus grabbed my arm but couldn’t stop me.
I took the empty chair next to Loli’s and sat beside her, greeting in the process.
Loli stopped laughing, which I didn’t like, but I did enjoy seeing the confusion on her
companion’s face.
The man furrowed his brow and looked between Loli and me.
“Do you know him?” he asked Loli, and I turned to look at her. She opened her mouth and
closed it, her eyes announcing a storm.
“He’s nobody,” she responded, recovering. NOBODY? I couldn’t have become anybody in such a
short time.
“So, I’m nobody,” I looked into her eyes, and we stared at each other for a few seconds. To hell

with everything, there must still be something of me in her, and if not, I’d make her feel what she once felt. For now, I wouldn’t let anyone get in my way. “Then I’ll have to be the one to tell him you’re mine,” I said to the guy, who still didn’t understand anything.
“What are you saying? Have you lost your mind?” Loli asked me furiously. “Don’t listen to him. I’m not his or anyone’s,” she clarified to the guy. “Please, leave, Gavin. This doesn’t make sense. I don’t know who you think you are to come here and say what you just said,” she stood
- up.
“You heard her,” Lorenzo stood up, and I planted myself in front of him. He was a bit shorter than me, and I must have been twice his size. I observed him; if I hit him, he’d end up in a
hospital.
“Stop this,” Loli said nervously, noticing the restaurant patrons watching us. “You’re a beast,” she pointed at me. Her companion approached me, and I took a step towards him.
“Gavin, buddy,” Gus spoke and distracted me, giving Loli a moment to leave alone. Without waiting, I bypassed Lorenzo and went after her.
I noticed her walking quickly down the street, hugging herself, and I realized I’d let my damn jealousy get the better of me.
“Damn it!” I said, quickening my pace towards her until I caught up and grabbed her arm.
“Let go of me,” she said angrily, and I felt like the biggest piece of s**t.
“Listen to me,” I stopped her again and rubbed my face. What was I thinking? Damn it! “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I acted like the biggest jerk,” she looked at me in silence. “I shouldn’t have acted that way,” I moved closer to her and slowly raised my hand to caress her cheek, taking
another step.
I swallowed hard, feeling her so close. Her gaze was so sweet and innocent. I stayed there and brought my face closer to hers until I joined my lips to hers. She tensed but allowed me to kiss her, responding slightly, and emotions flooded through me. It was better than I could have.
imagined.
“I went crazy when I saw you laughing with him…” I began to confess my feelings, hoping to fix
this mess.
However, I felt my cheek burn when Loli’s small hand slapped it hard.
“So, it’s about your ego,” she nodded to herself and continued without letting me speak. “You know what, you’re right, you’re a huge jerk, and don’t come near me or touch me again, because next time, the hit will be lower,” she stopped a taxi and got in, leaving me stunned. It took me two seconds before heading to my car. Even though it was clear she didn’t want to
