CHAPTER 162: DARE TO LOVE ME Are they for me?
Loli
I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself. Gavin and his damned ego had ruined my night.
Who did he think he was, claiming that I belonged to him? I scoffed. He was just like all those
fools who loved having the attention of naive girls like me, and when they realized they’d lost
that attention, they couldn’t stand it. They just wanted it back to continue ignoring us and
keep their macho pride intact. What a jerk I’d fallen for.
I sent a message to Lorenzo saying we’d talk later. I exhaled as I looked at the streets of my
city and remembered the kiss. I closed my eyes, thinking about it. My stomach was in turmoil.
I was going from bad to worse. How could I feel that way? I must have been out of my mind.
I paid the taxi when I arrived home and headed straight inside, stomping my feet. I couldn’t
shake off the anger.
“How was your night, dear?” my mother asked as soon as I walked in. “You look beautiful,” she smiled lovingly.
“It went well, Mom,” I kissed her on the head, and my father’s too, before heading up to my
room.
I was about to start undressing when I noticed my window was open. I walked over to it and
saw a familiar car in front of my house, with Gavin’s eyes looking up at my window. I froze for
a second.
He’d followed me. He was crazy. He was starting to scare me.
I slammed the window shut and got ready for bed. However, a few minutes later, I decided to
peek out from the side of the window. I didn’t know what I felt when I saw the car was still
there.
I went to bed and closed my eyes, trying to fall asleep.
I finished taking a bath and got ready for a new workday. I thought I was one of the few people
who went to work happily because I adored my Corinthians, not to mention that the family, the
girls, and Tino treated me with so much affection.
I headed downstairs and heard my parents whispering.
“Are they for Loli?” my father whispered.
“That’s what it says here,” my mother replied. I quickened my steps, not understanding what
they were talking about.

CHAPTER 162: DARE TO LOVE M…
“What…?” I started to ask, and my father stepped aside to let me see a gorgeous bouquet of
multicolored flowers, tastefully arranged and gigantic.
“They brought this for you,” my mother held the card in her hand.
“Are they for me?” I asked, unable to believe it, and walked slowly towards them.
My mother handed me the small card, and I read a “Sorry” followed by my name. The
handwriting was beautiful, and its scent was the same one I’d noticed last night when Gavin
was close to me.
“Was it Lorenzo?” she asked.
“No, Mom,” I simply replied as I gazed at the first bouquet I’d ever received, surpassing any
expectations.
“I thought you didn’t have anyone, dear,” my mother caressed the bouquet. “But it’s as big as
me,” she said delightedly.
“I don’t have anyone, Mom,” I clarified, recovering from the surprise. He was going to drive me
crazy.
“I have to go,” I grabbed my purse.
“Dear, the bouquet.”
“I don’t know, Mom, put it anywhere,” I said and turned to look at it again, my soft heart loving
- it.
I stepped outside and immediately saw one of the Russell’s trucks in front of my house. I stopped in my tracks, and Gavin stepped out of it.
“Good morning,” he nodded arrogantly and opened the back door. Just what I needed.
“Good morning,” I said in a low tone.
“I was sent to take you to the house,” he said, and I grimaced. Of course, Alaia would send for me after seeing my car at her house.
“I’ll take a taxi,” I said, looking at the street, which, luckily, was empty.
“I have orders to follow, Loli,” the tone and slight smile on his lips as he said my name made me tingle all over. Even though the last thing I wanted was to have him near, I had to go with
him.
I got into the car with a serious face, and he didn’t stop looking at me. My stomach couldn’t
handle the sensations.

CHAPTER 162: DARE TO LOVE M…
He started the car and looked at me through the mirror. My eyes were lost in the streets, trying
to get out of my head that we were in the car, just the two of us.
“I hope you liked them. I’m sorry,” he said, and I didn’t know what came over me, but I couldn’t forget how he’d behaved yesterday and how he’d made me feel invisible all this time. I didn’t respond. Deep down, I admitted it was incredible to receive them, especially since he was the
first to do so.
“You look beautiful,” he said after a short silence, and I swallowed my emotions after hearing
those three words. Be strong, Loli. Flowers and sweet words won’t make you believe in him.
“Could you just drive and please, don’t send me flowers again. Spare me the trouble of having
to get rid of them,” I lied. I couldn’t do it even if I wanted to. I could see he didn’t like my words.
He just nodded and gripped the steering wheel tightly.
We arrived at the house, and without waiting, I opened the door and got out of the car. He
stood by the side, and for some reason, I turned to look at him, finding him staring at me. I didn’t know in what way before continuing my path.
“Loli!” my little ones screamed when they saw me enter. I greeted them with many kisses and hugs.
“Loli, dear, how was your night?” Alaia came out of the kitchen and hugged me by the
shoulders.
“If I told you… But come on, since I know you sent someone for me, you must need my urgent help. Besides, I have to wait until we see Tino, or he’ll kill us if I tell you first.”
